Summary: Yunho is not band appa. He really isn't.
A/N Not law!verse. Sry...need to think more about that before I write it.
Their fans had named Yunho as band appa, but Jaejoong knew better. Yunho just went along with it because contrary to what people thought; his ego was bigger than Junsu’s ass. It had been that damn appearance on Chocolate that had really taken the cake, though, because Yunho had been adorable with Ye Eun; just only after Jaejoong and Changmin had whispered into the leader’s ear how to act around her. He had bragged about eating her chocolate for weeks. Yunho might be leader - a good leader - but he was no appa, not yet.
Junsu had burst out laughing when he had heard a fan yell out, "Yunho appa!” They had been in an airport, and it had been extraordinarily awkward. Yoochun had looked at him funny but Junsu had been unable to control himself. Since when did being leader equate fatherhood? Didn’t the fans notice how silly Yunho was? Oh well. It made Junsu giggle, so he didn’t let it bother him.
Yoochun blamed the false image of band appa on Jaejoong. “You feed him first, Joongie,” “Only because Changmin tells me too,” “You give Cassiopeia too much fan service.” “They love it, they get to write about it, we get to laugh about it, everyone is happy.” “Changmin isn’t happy.”
Yunho knows he isn’t the band appa. He likes pretending though, likes the thought of being the leader of a family instead of a band. But alas, fulfilling both roles was just too much stress. He liked to think he wasn’t as silly as his band mates undoubtedly thought he was; he was capable of being appa, but really...after sorting schedules and arguing with management and approving everything down to the color of their shoelaces, who wanted to go home and have to tell Yoochun, “for the love of God, don’t put socks on if you’re going to pull them off later - we don’t want to find them in the middle of the hallway...again!” No thank you, he’d rather not.
Changmin knew he was under-appreciated. It had been inevitable, really, especially after it became apparent that the fans were making Yunho and Jaejoong YunJae. It became especially apparent when Heechul had called Yunho, guffawing about something he’d read online concerning a certain “love child.” Everyone but Changmin had found it terribly funny. Junsu had had to suffer through a few days of no televised soccer for laughing a bit harder and a bit longer than the rest of the band. Yoochun had tried to sneak a mini tv into their room, but Jaejoong had told on him because the lead singer (sadistically) loved watching his dongsaengs get into trouble.
No, Yunho wasn’t band appa. Changmin was the one who made sure they were all in bed on time (because he couldn’t sleep unless everything was quiet.) Changmin was the one who helped them all with their Japanese (because he was smart, and he wanted his band mates, his family, to be smart too.) Changmin was the one who yelled at them for stupid things, Changmin was the one who made sure they ate everything on their plates, Changmin was the one who listened to them in the dark hours of the night...not Yunho.
Honestly though...Changmin didn’t really mind the misconception too much. There was less responsibility when you weren’t expected by 800,000+ fans to father an entire band (who were sillier than most people thought.) He liked anonymity; it gave him freedom, something he really didn’t have much of lately. Besides, he loved Cassiopeia, and he loved his band. If it made them happy to see Yunho as band appa, then that was fine. He would do anything to make them happy, anything at all.
This had been floating around in my head since I saw an interview where Yunho had to ask Changmin for some Japanese translation and Minnie answered him very calm and appa-like...
Oh, and I died watching Intimate note with Chullie and Hyukjae just now. You should watch it...even if you don't follow SJ much. Esp. part 7. Kyuhyun was just la;ksdlfkjldas hilarious. My suitemate thought I was dying lol.

I'm pretty sure it was the Shabekuri 007 show - but the vids I watched were taken off YT...so I dunno where you'd be able to find it...I'm sure if you search around it's tucked away somewhere, hiding...

Minnie is an epitome of calmness I think. Eventhought he always`said some snarky comments, he seemed already calculate the effects to the fans.
