I have been following the story since the moment it happened (thanks to CNN iphone app and BBC non-stop and everywhere in school) and I've been feeling shaken and frustrated all day long that I cannot do anything but sit there and wait. Wait to see weather the nature will have mercy.
What's more, the Japanese department of the uni, which I'm currently part of, if only as a student, has been filled to the brim with tension. It's horrible to see all of your teaches with pale faces, all worried about the family or friends that they have back in Japan. The tragedy really is enormous. I spent 1 hour with my mom on the phone, saying nothing much, just to two of us following the news (although in different places) and I realized it's exactly the same as when the tragedy on 09/11 happened. Only then I was much younger and mom and I were in the same house. But the horrible feeling in my guts is the same as back then.
I'm praying for everyone, not only Japan, but all the countries that will be (or already have been) affected by the approaching tsunami. Let's hope things will not be as bad as they can get.
