The Hyung-Dongsaeng List
Title: The Hyung-Dongsaeng List
Rating: PG
Pairing: Kyumin, Kangteuk
Summary: Kyuhyun is doted on due to his supposed messages in Intimate Note. If you haven't watched it, do so here. It's completely based on the seventh part of that.
Kyuhyun crossed Kangin off his mental list before they even got in the vans taking them back from the shooting location. Kangin caught him as the youngest stumbled, not having to hide his exhaustion anymore and Kyuhyun mumbled an informal thank you without even thinking. Kangin apparently didn’t mind because he held onto his magnae until he was sitting properly in the van and whispered, “Rest on the way back, Kyuhyun-ah.”
Ryeowook prevented him from falling asleep on the ride back by babbling about how brilliant and amusing his messages had been. Kyuhyun tried to dissuade him but Ryeowook insisted, saying that he couldn’t wait to tell Yesung and “I have to call Henry! He loves to laugh and this will make him roll off his seat.”
Kyuhyun sighed and made a mental X next to the eternal magnae’s name. Figures he’d think it was a good idea.
That night, Eunhyuk wordlessly brought in Star Craft and they played until two in the morning. Kyuhyun didn’t remember falling asleep but he woke up the next morning with a sticky on his forehead that read, “I had fun! <3 your eternally evil Hyukjae.”
Three down, four to go.
He had walked out to find that Hankyung had left some fried rice for him, with a note of course.
Watch out for Heechul. He’s on the warpath. Thanks for yesterday, though, it was fun to watch. -Hankyung.
Kyuhyun thought he could also cross Heechul off his list as a result of Hankyung’s message, but he didn’t actually do it until he found another note on his bed later that day. It read, in very formal language, “For my dongsaeng (the title was underlined, starred, with several arrows pointing at it): I will beat the record you achieved with Hyukjae last night. You’d better be up when I get back. -Your HYUNG.” (The last word took up the entire lower three thirds of the page.)
Kyuhyun waited up and they doubled the score set the previous evening.
He woke the next morning to someone stroking his hair. Leeteuk was sitting next to him, smiling, and Kyuhyun erased the list in his head. “It was you wasn’t it?”
“Well,” he leader said, “I have so many awkward members and we can only be on the show so many times.”
“Why did you make your messages sound like they were from me?”
“I just said it. Heechul even said it on the show: he’s awkward with you...or was. I hear you spent all last night with him playing Star Craft. Admit it, you were doted on.”
“Sungmin hasn’t come to me yet.”
“So go to him.”
Kyuhyun stared at his leader. “I think he’s mad at me. I haven’t seen him at all.”
“No, he’s mad at me,” Leeteuk said firmly, pulling Kyuhyun up, “he just doesn’t realize it yet. You should go tell him that. And he’s hiding in Heechul’s room.”
The youngest sighed (he’d been doing a lot of that lately) and finally relented, sitting up an stretching. “Where’s Kangin? Shouldn’t you be with him?”
“Kangin’s not speaking to me because I mentioned his weight on national television.”
Kyuhyun snorted.
“I know,” Leeteuk laughed, “But he’s at the gym now, so...it’s a good thing. I’ll pounce when he gets back.”
“Just...pounce out of earshot, Leeteuk-ah.”
Leeteuk smiled and pushed Kyuhyun out the door, “That’s Leeteuk-hyung to you, dongsaeng. You can’t take advantage of the person who gave you the advantage in the first place.”
Kyuhyun walked into Heechul’s room without knocking and found Sungmin curled up in the sheets. The youngest tried not to think about what Sungmin had to promise Heechul to gain permission to sleep in the bed.
Silently, Kyuhyun slid into the covers and pulled his roommate close.
“It wasn’t me,” he murmured.
“I know,” was the quiet reply, “Leeteuk told me.”
“Teukie-hyung is a meddling bastard,” Kyuhyun responded, adding in his head, and a liar.
“You’re closer to everyone, though, right?”
Kyuhyun turned his hyung around. “Everyone but you.”
“We were always close.”
Kyuhyun shook his head. “Not how either of us want.”
There was perhaps a minute of his heart thudding in his ears until Sungmin was kissing him sweetly.
“You are mine,” Kyuhyun murmured into his hair, “don’t give your heart to anyone else.”
Sungmin poked him, “I was so mad when I thought it was you saying that to everyone.”
“I noticed. You tried to hit me every time it was read. I really am saying it this time though, and to no one else.”
Sungmin kissed him again.
Leeteuk was about to give himself a pat on the back for a job well done when he felt arms wrapping around him.
“I thought you were mad at me.”
“I was. But I’ve decided that since you’re more caring to us than you are asshole, I might as well forgive you.”
“You figured it out did you?”
“Heechul did. He’s going to kill you, by the way.”
“Nonsense, he reaped plenty of benefit.”
Kangin laughed into the leader’s shoulder.
“I’m a little disappointed,” Leeteuk confessed, “I was going to pounce on you an demand forgiveness but now I don’t have to.”
“Oh, we can still do pouncing. I’m all for pouncing.”
Leeteuk laughed.
A/N I really think Kyuhyun is brilliant for doing what he did. I just thought well GOSH...it'd be hilarious if someone else made it sound like it was him. Who better than Teukie?? Comments are looove.
